What do I do if I lose a library book?

Answer

Short answer: if you lose a library book, you have to pay to replace it.

More information can be found on Library Information and Policies: Borrowing Materials page, under Overdue and Lost Material.

Stop by the Main Desk or call 217-351-2223 as soon as you realize you've lost a book (or Loanable Technology, like a Calculator, etc). Don't hope it will just go away--not dealing with it will create problems down the road when you try to register for next semester classes, receive your grades or order a transcript.
