Can I borrow a book that the Library does not own?

Answer

Yes, as long as you are a current student, faculty or staff member.

The fastest way is to use "I-Share," a state-wide consortium of Illinois libraries that share resources. Books often arrive in a couple of days, though it can take longer.

For books not found at Parkland or in I-Share, submit an Interlibrary Loan Request.  ILL requested books take longer to arrive, so allow 7-10 business days.

Whether your book is requested through I-Share or ILL, you will be notified by email when it is ready for check out. Books may be picked up at the library's Main Desk. Return your books to the Main Desk by their due dates and we'll take care of sending them back to their home libraries.
