How do I find a scholarly or peer-reviewed article?

Answer

First, use a database. From the Library homepage, click on Databases link, then try Academic Search Ultimate. If you're off-campus, you'll be prompted for a login and password (students: login = parkland email login; password = parkland email password.)

Now that you're in, type in your search terms, then scroll down to "Limit Your Results" and click the box that says "Full Text" and the box that says "Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals.

Other databases that have peer reviewed journals include: CINAHL (for health professions) and Science Direct.

For more information about Peer-Reviewed journal articles, read our guide.
